Terms of Service
Last updated
The rules for using ShockRoute, written to be read. The short version: pick a plan, cancel anytime, your data stays yours.
1. This agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and ShockRoute. “You” means the person who creates the account and the pool company they create it for. By creating an account or using ShockRoute you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ShockRoute.
The account owner is responsible for everyone they invite (techs, office staff, admins) and for what those people do in the account.
2. Plans and prices
Every plan includes every feature. Plans differ only by how many active pools you service.
- Starter: free, up to 25 pools. No card needed.
- Route: $99 per month flat, up to 150 pools.
- Company: $249 per month, unlimited pools.
Prices are in U.S. dollars and do not include any sales tax that may apply. To service more than 25 pools you need the Route or Company plan; to service more than 150 you need the Company plan.
We may change prices. We will tell account owners at least 30 days before a price change takes effect, and it applies from your next billing period after that.
3. Billing and cancellation
Paid plans are billed monthly, in advance, to the card on file through Stripe. Your plan renews each month until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. We do not give refunds or credits for partial months, for unused pools, or for months you did not use the service.
If a payment fails, we will try again and let you know. If it still fails, we may move your account to Starter or pause it until the bill is paid. We will not delete your data for non-payment without telling you first.
4. Payment processing fees
ShockRoute lets your company take payments from your customers through Stripe Connect. ShockRoute is the platform; Stripe moves the money to your bank account. These rates apply to each successful payment:
- Card: 3.4% + 25¢ per payment, the same for one-time payments and autopay.
- Bank transfer (ACH): 1%, capped at $10 per payment.
- Payouts: next business day to your bank account, once Stripe has verified your account. Stripe may hold or delay payouts under its own rules.
- Card surcharging (passing the card fee to your customer) is not available yet. Until it is, the card rate above is paid by your company.
The fee is taken from each payment before it reaches your bank. It includes Stripe's own processing fee; ShockRoute keeps the difference. If you refund a payment, the processing fee on the original payment is not returned. Disputes and chargebacks may carry fees under Stripe's terms.
To take payments you must open a Stripe account through ShockRoute and agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. Stripe, not ShockRoute, decides whether to approve your account. You are responsible for your prices, refunds, and taxes on what you charge your customers.
5. Live-in-a-day guarantee
Send us your customer list within 14 days of signing up and we import it free. If your routes are not running in ShockRoute within 7 days after we receive the list, your first 3 months of Route or Company are free (applied as a credit).
To claim the credit, email support@shockroute.com. The credit applies to your first 3 months on a paid plan and has no cash value.
6. Your data
You own the data you put into ShockRoute, including your customers' information. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to use your customers' information and to contact them.
You can get a copy of your data as CSV files or have it deleted at any time by emailing support@shockroute.com.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use ShockRoute to:
- break any law, or send messages your customers did not agree to receive;
- upload data you have no right to use, or malicious code;
- try to get into another company's data, test or break our security, or overload the service;
- copy, resell or rebuild the service.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
8. Water chemistry and dosing
Dose suggestions, LSI readings and calculators are math based on the readings and pool volume you enter. They are a tool, not a guarantee. Your techs remain responsible for testing water correctly, following product labels and safety rules, and using their own judgment before adding any chemical.
9. Availability
We work to keep ShockRoute running, but we do not promise any level of uptime and there is no service-level agreement. The service may be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. The tech app saves work on the phone and sends it when it can, but keep your own records of anything critical.
We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something you rely on, we will tell you ahead of time when we reasonably can.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
ShockRoute is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, ShockRoute is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid ShockRoute in subscription fees in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.
You agree to cover ShockRoute against claims by your customers or others that arise from your services, your data, or your breaking these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and both sides agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell account owners by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using ShockRoute after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel before they take effect.
