This page explains, in plain words, what information ShockRoute collects, why, who helps us process it, and how you can get a copy or have it deleted.
1. Who we are
ShockRoute is pool service software: route and stop management, a tech app, water chemistry and dosing, service reports, quotes and invoices. In this policy, “ShockRoute,” “we” and “us” mean the company that runs shockroute.com. “You” means a person or pool company that uses ShockRoute.
2. What we collect
Account data. Your email address, your password (stored by our login provider as a one-way hash, never in plain text), your company name, and the names, emails and roles of the team members you invite.
Your customers and your service work. What you and your team enter or import: customer names, service addresses, phone numbers and emails, pool details, routes and schedules, water test readings, chemical doses, notes, skipped stops, work orders, quotes, invoices, rates and costs.
Photos. Pictures your techs take at a stop or on a work order. They are stored privately and shown through links that expire.
Payment data. When a pool company takes payments through ShockRoute, card and bank details are entered into and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers or bank account numbers. We keep payment records such as amount, date and status.
Technical data. Our hosting provider logs requests (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) to run and secure the service. The tech app saves work on the phone first (in the browser's storage) so a dead zone never loses a stop, then sends it when the phone is back online. It also remembers the tech's language choice on the device.
We do not collect location tracking from techs' phones, and we do not sell personal information.
3. How we use it
- To run the service you signed up for: show routes, calculate doses, build service reports, quotes and invoices, and process payments you take.
- To place service addresses on a map and plan routes.
- To send emails the service needs, such as sign-up confirmation, password reset, and service reports your company chooses to email to its customers.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and answer support requests.
We do not use your customers' data to market to them, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
4. Your customers' data: who controls it
The pool company decides what customer information goes into ShockRoute and what it is used for. The pool company is responsible for that data and for having the right to use it. ShockRoute processes it on the pool company's behalf and only to provide the service.
If you are a pool owner whose service company uses ShockRoute, please contact your service company first about your information. You can also write to us at support@shockroute.com and we will pass your request to them and help them answer it.
5. Who processes data for us
We use these companies to run ShockRoute. Each gets only what it needs for its job.
- Supabase: database, file storage for photos, and login.
- Vercel: hosts the website and app.
- Stripe: payment processing for subscriptions and for payments pool companies collect from their customers. Stripe handles card and bank details under its own privacy policy.
- U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder: receives service addresses to find their map location.
- OpenStreetMap tile servers: send the map images you see; your browser requests them directly, which shares your IP address with them.
- Resend: delivers service report emails, only when a company turns emailed reports on.
- Google Analytics and Meta pixel: only if we turn them on, on our marketing pages and the account owner's plan upgrade page, to measure visits, sign-ups, upgrades and ads. They are not used anywhere else in the app and never see your customers, routes or invoices.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account and your company's data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your company's data from the live service within 30 days. Copies in our hosting provider's backups are removed as those backups expire on their normal schedule. We may keep billing records as long as tax and accounting law requires.
8. Your data is yours: export and deletion
You can leave whenever you want and take your data with you. Reports in the app export to CSV today. Email support@shockroute.com from the account owner's address and we will send you your customers, pools, service history and billing records as CSV files, or delete them, at no charge.
You can also ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We answer within 30 days.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Each company's data is walled off from every other company's in the database, and techs cannot see prices, costs or billing. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.
10. Children
ShockRoute is a business tool and is not meant for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell account owners by email or in the app before it takes effect.
